Welcome

Hi, my name's R.J. Washington and this is my journal, Learn From The X-Geek. I created this blog to talk about all my hobbies: comics, television, video games and all other forms of geeky entertainment.

I'm going to write reviews and my thoughts on all kinds of things. The best way to know what to expect, is to learn about me first.

So, you know I'm a geek, but what does that mean? There are many types of geek or nerd or dork. Well, I'm a sci-fi watching/cop drama following/Marvel Comics fanboying/late night show viewing/cartoon loving/platforming gamer type of geek. If you haven't guessed yet, I adore that X-Men. This series is the reason I read comics. Don't get me wrong, I read DC, Vertigo, Image, Darkhorse and many other brands, but I will always live in the house of Marvel.

I'm into all kinds of television shows. You could call me a Whedon fan, seeing that I have the entire series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly on DVD, have downloaded Doctor Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog, and nearly did a back flip when I learned that Dollhouse was renewed for a second season. A few other top notch shows are Stargate: SG-1, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Crimnal Intent, Monk, Psych, In Plain Sight, Leverage, Greek, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Heroes, The Closer, The Dead Zone, Scrubs, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Eureka, The Middleman, Chuck, Pushing Daises, and Life.

I'm a big cartoon fan. I love Scooby-Doo in all its incarnations. Looney Tunes, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Kim Possible, The Mighty B, Tiny Tunes, Class of 3000, Futurama, South Park, Drawn Together, and Family Guy are some of my best animated shows.

Oh, and here's some personal info. I'm 20, live in Virginia, USA and am going to school to learn and teach Spanish. I hope to one day be a write for comics and TV. I know its a long shot, but you gotta dream big, right?
